what is "normal" vagina. most of the woman don't know.Each woman and her vagina is unique. Although they share common characteristics, every woman has her own smell and an amount of discharge that varies with her menstrual cycle. Vagina produce fluids in response to sexual intercourse and physical activity. You may notice slight staining on your underwear that is white or yellowish and a distinct, but not bad. This is normal.
Many aspects that can destroy the balance of vagina:
  1. Poor hygiene
  2. Illness
  3. Drugs like Oral contraceptives and antibiotics can contribute to vaginosis.
  4. Low levels of lactobacilli
  5. Douching is really bad for the vagina.
  6. Sperm are highly alkaline, so when they arrive in the vagina, the vagina needs to work extra hard to return itself to its acidic status quo, this can cause a brief increase in odour.
In general, you can avoid vaginal irritation by keeping your genital area dry and well aired. You can do this in the following ways:
  1. wear only cotton underwear;
  2. Do not douche
  3. Use condoms if you have multiple partners
  4. change pads and tampons regularly - at least every 4-8 hours;
  5. avoid vaginal sprays and deodorants;
  6. use only unscented pads and tampons;
  7. explore alternatives to using pads and tampons;
  8. remove damp swim wear and sports clothes as soon as possible;
  9. avoid tight-fitting clothes and wearing synthetic materials next to your skin;
  10. wipe from front to back after urinating or having a bowel movement; and
  11. avoid long exposure to hot sweaty conditions like saunas and aerobics.
  12. Eat a good healthy diet
